Sansuikai is the Aikido organization founded by Yoshimitsu Yamada, 8th Dan Shihan (Feb 17, 1938 – Jan 15, 2023), who was the first Chief Instructor of New York Aikikai.
The name Sansuikai (山水会) was given by Yamada Sensei which means a small stream (水) coming down from the mountains (山) that should grow and become a big river; a strong Sansuikai organization that unites Yamada Sensei’s students and supports their practice and Aikido development.
Sansuikai International was founded by Yamada Sensei in 1988 followed by the foundation of Sansuikai Latinoamerica in 2001 and Sansuikai Europe in 2006 in Bernau am Chiemsee, Germany.
