Every year the Bernau Summer Camp attracted a large number of Yamada Sensei’s students and Sansuikai and USAF senior instructors from Europe and all over the world.
Here we share some of their personal experiences.

„Aikido Summer Camp in Bernau deserves special mention for the training and connections with friends old and new, the idyllic setting – with Munich, Innsbruck, and Salzburg just a short drive away.“

Eric Dunlup, 4th Dan, New York Aikikai, currently in Berlin, Germany

„I was looking forward to more input, more interpretations of aikido, powered by Yamada’s powerful basics. But now it’s time for Sensei’s class. Although the class starts a 10h, the entire mat is full and sitting quietly twenty minutes before. They all know the drill. Sensei sighs, looks at the clock. His shrugging shoulders and movement to the mat say, “well, everyone is ready I’ll start even earlier”. He walks to the kamiza, patting is hips once, then twice. It’s going to be a great class!“
